Tunisian vegetable and m'hamsa soup

A classical Tunisian winter soup with vegetables and old Berber m'hamsa grains.

Ingredients for 4 :

Preparation :

  • Cut the onion into small pieces
  • Shell the green peas
  • Peel and slice the carrots into small pieces
  • Wash the spinach, remove the stalk and cut into stripes
  • Crush the garlic cloves
  • Fry the onion in the extra virgin olive oil, add the concentrated tomato paste and a cup of water and cook for a few minutes
  • Add the chickpeas, green peas and 1 litre of water and cook for 30 minutes at meadium heat
  • Add the spinach, the garlic, salt, pepper and the harissa, cook for 15 minutes
  • Add the m’hamsa and cook for another 15 minutes
