How should I store olive oil?
Please store your olive oil in a cool dark place. A cupboard would be ideal for the kitchen since heat sources could damage it.
How long is the shelf life of olive oil? It is typically 18-24 months
Can you use olive oil for frying? Absolutely, up to temperatures of 180º Celsius.
Why buy several bottles? Buying at least 3 bottles, significantly reduces the cost of delivery in proportion of your spend. Olive oil has a long conservation period and can easily be stored at home.

What are the reasons for the price differences between extra virgin olive oils? Premium extra virgin olive oils are typically harvested early, which means that the volume of oil produced can be less than half of the same quantity of mature olives. In order to ensure the highest quality standard, the olives need to be processed shortly after the harvesting closely to the olive grove. This can be quite challenging for large quantities which would come with economies of scale, hence the large proportion of small and medium producers of premium extra virgin olive oil. Is there an objective difference in quality between extra virgin olive oils? There is clear difference which can be measured via sensory and chemical tests. The most common extra virgin olive oils have an acidity level of around 0.8%, which is the maximum legally acceptable level. Premium extra virgin olive oils tend to have an acidity level of 0.1-0.3%.
