Delicate Tuscan olive oil from award-winning producer Frantoio Franci, ideal on seafood and fish or as an artichoke dip.
Olivastra Seggianese is a mild premium extra virgin olive from the hills of Montenero D’Orcia, Montegiovi and Seggiano, in the South of Tuscany. It is produced from hand-picked Olivastra olives located at a height of 400 to 700 metres above sea level.
It is a a light and elegant oil with a slightly spicy end. It is particularly well suited for seafood, chickpea soups or fish couscous. Try it as a fresh artichoke dip.
It is produced by Frantoio Franci, one of Italy’s most renowned olive oil producers. The farm, based near Montalcino in Montenero d’Orcia is currently managed by Giorgio Franci, having taken over from his father Fernando. The mill quickly became famous through its flagship Villa Magra Grand Cru, which has long been regarded as the pioneer on the segment of olive oils of the highest quality. Frantoio Franci progressively expanded its range to cover a large selection of oil form delicate to intense. It is one of of the most awarded olive oil producers in Italy and has received the highest score of 98/98 by Flos Olei, the international olive oil guide.
Aroma: clear scent of olives, fresh and delicate, typical of Olivastra, strong hints of vegetable with clear hints of artichoke and slight hints of banana.
Taste: delicate, well-rounded, with well-balanced fruity and herbaceous flavours, very light and elegant. Initially with sweet sensation on the palate which develops into a medium peppery intensity. Beautifully harmonious and elegant complexity with a spicy and fresh finish.
